BASIC FIREARMS TRAINING



Classroom firearm training includes criminal and civil liability, proper care of a weapon, range safety, weapon retention and more. Two days of classroom training, followed by range qualification on the third day.

Who needs this class? Anyone who wants to carry a handgun while on duty for the following DCJS categories:

*Private Investigators
*Armored Car Personnel
*K9 Officers
*Locksmiths
*Alarm Respondents



Entry Level Basic Handgun Class (07E)


This class runs Friday and Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Range qualification is held on Sunday.

16 Hours


Prepay Cost: $100.00 -or-

Day of Class Cost: $125.00

All ammunition must be purchased at the range when you go to qualify.

This class runs on Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Range qualification takes place immediately following the classroom training on Sunday.

This class runs on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Range qualification takes place on Sunday.


The same class must be taken yearly to keep this certification current.
